About WRIU
WRIU, the University of Rhode Island’s student-run radio station, has been bringing music, news, and community programming to listeners for decades. The station provides students and community volunteers with hands-on experience in broadcasting, production, and media management while serving as a vital voice for the URI and surrounding communities.

How Your Gift Helps
Support for WRIU is directed through RhodyNow: WRIU, the station’s immediate-use charitable fund. This fund is managed by the University of Rhode Island Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all gifts are tax-deductible. Contributions go directly to supporting the station’s day-to-day operations and special projects.
This year, WRIU completed a special project to replace the broadcast tower in Kingston, ensuring the station can continue to broadcast clearly and reliably for years to come. Your gift helped make this project possible while keeping the station on air with the programs listeners love.

Running now through April 25, the 2026 WRIU Radiothon is an opportunity for the station to raise $20,000 to fund this critical infrastructure project.
